A traditional plushie keychain hangs from a single point at the top of its head, swinging like a pendulum every time you take a step. When Yukai Engineering set out to create a wearable robot companion, they replaced the dangling metal hook with long, wrap-around plush arms that hug your bag strap directly.

1. Single-Point Keyring vs. Two-Arm Strap Hug
| Design Aspect | Standard Dangling Plushie Keychain | Mirumi Wrap-Around Arm Charm Robot |
|---|---|---|
| Posture on your bag | Spins backward and bounces against the side of your bag | Clings upright to a ~10–15 mm strap (US FAQ) so its face stays oriented outward |
| Why orientation matters | Static embroidered face | Expressive head turns need an upright perch so you can see it peek and pause (arm & movement design account) |
| Weight & hardware | Metal lobster clasp (40–80 g total) | Soft wrap-around arms; approx. 155 g and 100 × 110 × 140 mm (US Gray spec) |
2. What to Check Before Switching From a Keyring to Wrap-Around Arms
While a metal keyring clips to thin D-rings, Mirumi's arms are engineered for straps approximately 10–15 mm in diameter (US FAQ). Once wrapped in place, it responds to head petting and nearby sound with zero app setup and USB-C recharging. Choose from Mirumi Robot Ivory, Mirumi Robot Pink, and Mirumi Robot Gray.
