Go into a Mirumi demonstration with one buying question you want to answer. It might be whether you enjoy the movement, like the feel or can picture the product on your everyday bag. Record what you actually see, then leave the questions a short visit cannot answer unresolved.
This is a checklist for a future, permitted demonstration. We have not carried out the visit. We have not measured performance. We have not verified a current demo location. The product references below include the manufacturer’s US FAQ. They also include the manufacturer’s US Gray listing. These sources were checked on October 6, 2026.
Use a video to choose your question first
Before arranging a visit, watch the night-city reel from @mirumi_tokyo. At about 00:09, a pink Mirumi appears on a black crossbody strap. Around 00:10–00:11, a hand strokes its head while it is being held. These moments give you two useful prompts: where would you want to wear it, and would you want to try that kind of interaction?
The different head positions around 00:04–00:08 show why a still photograph cannot answer every movement question. Ask to observe the interaction in person if its timing matters to you. The reel does not establish which input caused a movement. It does not establish attachment security on your bag. It does not establish operating duration.
These notes come from chronological frames sampled once per second from the linked reel. They are visual observations. We did not assess audio. We did not carry out a physical test. Use the clip to narrow your question; keep the blank card below for what you actually establish at a permitted demonstration.
Before you travel, confirm what you can try
Contact the venue and ask whether a Mirumi demonstration is currently available. Confirm the opening time and whether you may handle the product. A product listing or an old event announcement is not confirmation of today’s access.
Ask which model, color and market version the demonstration uses. If staff cannot identify the unit, record that uncertainty. Do not assume it is the same version as the offer you may buy.
Write one sentence before the visit: “I will be closer to a decision if I can find out ______.” Keep it about something you can observe, such as your interest in the interaction. A short demonstration is not a battery-endurance or long-term wear study.
Let the demonstrator show the normal interaction
Ask the demonstrator to follow the product’s current instructions. Request permission before touching it or trying it on a bag. Keep any attempt within what the venue allows; do not improvise a stress test.
The US FAQ describes reactions to sounds and voices. It recommends waiting a few seconds between interactions. Official interaction guidance Note what happened after an ordinary interaction, including when nothing was visible during the time you watched. Do not repeatedly prompt just to obtain the response you expected.
Separate observation from interpretation. “The head turned after the demonstrator spoke” is a possible way to record an event if you see it. “It understood the request” is a different claim. Mirumi’s US FAQ says it does not recognize language. Language-recognition answer
Use a blank observation card
Fill this in only with what you establish during your own visit:
- Venue and date: ______
- Demonstration model, color and market, or unidentified: ______
- Who operated the unit, and what handling was permitted: ______
- My buying question: ______
- Setting and background noise as I perceived them: ______
- Action taken by the demonstrator or me: ______
- What I saw or heard, without assigning a cause: ______
- Time I watched and pause before another interaction: ______
- What I enjoyed, disliked or could not decide: ______
- Question that remains open, and who can answer it: ______
For timing, label an estimate as an estimate. Do not turn a few observations into a reliability percentage. If the demonstration does not answer the question, “unresolved” is a useful result.
Ask about your actual routine
For bag use, bring the intended bag only if the venue permits a fitting check. Ask the demonstrator to compare its attachment point with the instructions. The manufacturer recommends a strap diameter of approximately 10–15 mm. Attachment guidance Keep the outcome specific to what was checked rather than declaring the product suitable for every bag.
For charging, ask to see the included equipment and the applicable instructions. The US Gray listing gives approximately eight hours of operation on a full charge. Its listed charging time is approximately two hours. US Gray specifications Those are listed figures, not results established by your visit.
For the purchase, ask the actual seller which version it will supply, what the dispatch terms are and which return conditions apply after opening. Write down the source of the answer. Do not import another store’s terms into the offer you are considering.
Leave with a decision, not a diagnosis
Choose the next step that matches your notes:
- If you observed enough to judge the interaction, use that preference in your buying decision, then check the seller’s terms
- If an important practical detail remains unclear, ask for the relevant model documentation before paying
- If the demonstration cannot answer the question, wait rather than fill the gap with an assumption
An unexplained response or noise is a question for the demonstrator or manufacturer support. This checklist does not diagnose a fault. Likewise, a pleasant visit does not establish long-term durability, daily battery endurance or how you will feel after weeks of ownership.
Keep the observation card. Its value is a clear account of what your decision rests on and what still needs an answer.
